Call for Submissions – 2018-19 Student Ambassadors

Apply now to be one of Rumble’s Student Ambassadors this season!

Every year, Rumble Theatre mentors students in the final year of their post-secondary professional theatre training as they prepare to enter their independent practice. We offer access to company resources such as studio and/or office space, mentorship in a variety of areas from the Rumble team (Managing Producer Christie Watson, Director of Operations Kellee Ngan, and Artistic Director Jivesh Parasram), opportunities to make connections with working professionals, and invitations to engage in Rumble’s programming (e.g. AGM-apalooza, first read-throughs of our mainstage productions) with the objective of building familiarity and comfort in contemporary independent theatre production.

In exchange, Student Ambassadors will represent Rumble to their student body, bring their fellow students to see our work, volunteer at events, and generally spread the word about Rumble throughout the year. The Student Ambassadors will also help host our Living Room sessions, and produce and present the 48-Hour Crockpot, our theatre creation challenge that brings together students from different theatre training institutions to create a piece together over one weekend.

Being a Student Ambassador is a great opportunity for soon-to-be graduates to immerse themselves in Rumble’s work and in the community they’ll soon be ready to join.

We are currently seeking to fill two positions for this season. The ideal candidates have just entered the final year of a post-secondary professional training program (BFA or equivalent) and are self-motivated, ambitious, focused, and can rally some troops when needed.

You can read more about the program and past ambassadors here.
