Meet The Team of “Bull”

Tremors is one of the highlights of our season. We love working with emerging artists and watching them create art together. We’re thrilled to have such a great group of “emergies” for this year’s shows and want to introduce them to you. So, without further ado, the creative team of Bull and two of our professional mentors.

Jamie King – Director

Jamie’s directing credits include: Wild in Wild/ Society (star star theatre), currently on a cross Canada Fringe tour; The Particulars (The EASTWALL/Railtown  Cultural Eclective), In The Movies and Drifting (Brave New Play Rites). She has also worked with: Rumble Theatre, Caravan Farm Theatre, Twenty-Something Theatre, Hardline Productions, Arts Club Theatre, Little Mountain Lion Productions, Vancouver Asian Canadian Theatre, The Cultch, and Electric Company Theatre. Jamie is a graduate of UBC.

Pedro Chamale – Carter

Pedro Chamale received his BFA in Theatre Performance from SFU. Pedro is the Co-Artistic Director of rice & beans theatre. Performer/collaborator credits include The Walking Projects: Vancouver, Crawling, Weeping, Betting (Battery Opera), Are We There Yet? (Neworld Theatre), The Show Must Go On and Poetics: a ballet brute (Push Festival). Pedro has worked with local theatre companies such as: Leaky Heaven, Theatre Conspiracy, Boca del Lupo, and The Only Animal. 

Vincent Leblanc-Beaudoin – Tony

Vincent is a Jessie Award-winning actor based out of Vancouver. He has an Honours B.A. in Theatre from the University of Ottawa and is a graduate of Studio 58. His recent theatre credits include I Can’t Tell You (Vancouver, Victoria, San Diego & Tijuana Fringe Festivals), Mathieu Mathematiques (Theatre La Seizieme), Let’s Talk About Sex, The Stranger (DLT Teatro) and Selfie (Theatre La Seizieme). 

Lucy McNulty – Isobel

Lucy McNulty – Isobel (Bull)


Lucy was excited when she thought she was receiving emails from Bumble, but it turns out it was Rumble. Other credits include: Rivulets (Babelle Theatre) and There is no way to fix what is going wrong (Electric Company). Lucy is a graduate of Studio 58 and the recipient of the 2016 Sydney Risk Award for Acting.

Adam Olgui – Thomas

Adam Olgui is a Vancouver-based performer. Select credits: Habib’s All Night House Party (Western Canada Theatre), Bah Humbug! (Vancouver Moving Theatre), Just Watch Me (Vancouver Fringe), Secret Garden, Good Person of Setzuan (Exit 22), Oliver!, Legally Blonde (TUTS), and Midsummer Night’s Dream (Beach House). Other highlights include performing at We Day, as well as singing with the legendary Dal Richards. Thanks to friends and family for their support!

Jessica is thrilled to be making her Tremors debut Stage Managing Bull. Jessica is graduating this fall from Studio 58 as a Theatre Production student with a focus in Stage Management. Recent credits include Stage Manager, SHINE: A Burlesque Musical (The Wet Spots), Sound Designer, The Crowd (Green Thumb Theatre), Stage Manager, Fourplay (Studio 58), Assistant Stage Manager/Sound Operator, Flee (Electric Company Theatre).

Arlen Kristian Tom – Set Design

Arlen Kristian Tom is a playwright, musician and general jack of all trades, always looking to be mediocre at more. Writing and performing credits include Party This Weekend (House Party Collective), The Best, Man (They Call ’em Rogues), Waiting on the World (rEvolver Theatre Festival) and Stationary: a Recession-Era Musical (Delinquent Theatre). He is excited to being making his design debut with Tremors and Bull.

Kaitlin Williams – Costume Design

Kaitlin is a Vancouver based theatre artist and works primarily as an actor and designer. Select costume design credits include Stationary: A Recession Era Musical (Delinquent), The Diary of Anne Frank (TWU), The Out Vigil, Us and Everything we Own (Twenty-Something), Bash (Hardline) and assistant designing Debts (ITSAZOO). Upcoming: designing Smash for TWU and acting in A Lovely Sunday for Chemainus. She is a graduate of UVic’s BFA program.

Joel Grinke – Lighting Design

Joel Grinke integrates technology with live performance to make amazing things happen. Recent work: co-creating Life, Right (, a machine that captures wishes (I Wish, Presentation House Theatre/Theatro Elasnor Italy), and creating images controlled by the sound of a violin (Never the Last, Delinquent Theatre). Joel trained at Studio 58 as an actor and holds a Bachelor of Performing Arts.

Ryan is a sound designer, actor and writer who graduated from Capilano University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Performing Arts. Previous sound design credits include Agnes of God (Pacific Theatre), Eurydice (Plan Z Theatre), This is Really Important (NOW! Theatre), The Giver and Schoolhouse (Gallery 7 Theatre).


Sarah Rodgers – Directing and Acting Mentor

Sarah Rodgers is a director based in Vancouver.  She graduated from UBC in 2003 with her MFA. Directing highlights:  West Side Story (currently running at Theatre Under the Stars), Pride and Prejudice (Arts Club), Espresso (Pacific Theatre); Innocence Lost (Studio 58), The Duchess (UBC/Ruby Slippers). Sarah is thrilled to be mentoring this very talented group of emerging artists.

Born and raised in Israel, Amir graduated Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design with a BFA in Theatre Set & Costume Design and received an MFA in Theatre Set Design from Brandeis University. Amir designed for productions in London, Tel-Aviv, Massachusetts, and Durham (NC) where he worked as the resident set and costume designer and guest lecturer in theatre design with Duke University Department of Theatre Studies.

Eleanor Felton – Director

Eleanor holds a BA in theatre from TWU. She is a   director, actor, and choreographer. Recent directing credits include: A Good Mother (Pacific Theatre), BroadWHAT?! (Off Key Improv), Eurydice (Plan Z Theatre), and The Taming of the Shrew (Stonesthrow). Upcoming: Salt-Water Moon (Plan Z Theatre), and How to Adult: The Musical (Coffee & Screaming).

Britney Buren is a recent graduate of the Bachelor of Performing Arts program at Capilano University and Douglas College. She has performed in various shows upon graduation including One Singular Sensation (Centennial Theatre), The Home Project (Grey Scale), (b)rainstorm (Anvil Theatre), and Oliver! (Theatre Under The Stars).

Julie is a graduate of the American Musical & Dramatic Academy in NYC, where she also studied at The Lee Strasberg Institute. New York stage credits include Debbie in Ed Baker’s Face Divided (American Theatre of Actors, Off-Off-Broadway) and Luciana in The Comedy of Errors (Oxford Shakespeare Company).  Vancouver stage credits include Eurydice (Plan Z Theatre, FringeFest), PullFest (Speakeasy/SUM Theatres), and Beowulf (rEvolver Festival, UpIntheAirTheatre).


Chris Francisque – Greg

Chris Francisque – Greg (Better Angels: A Parable)

A native of St-Hubert, Québec, Chris was always performing as a child. He took theatre throughout grade school and college. After a seven-year hiatus from acting, he was cast in Truth and Reconciliation (Surrey Little Theatre) for which he won the 2015 CTC award for Best Supporting Actor. Less than two years later, Chris has been in three shows, won several awards, and is now performing in his professional theatre debut.

Originally from China, Xin Xuan Song is a recent grad from SFU’s Theatre Production and Design program. Selected SM credits including: Road Trip (Vancouver Men’s Chorus, 2016), Saudade (Rob Kitsos’ Production, 2015), the SFU production of The Unnatural and Accidental Women (directed by Steven Hill, 2015), The Cold War (directed by DD Kugler, 2014), and ASM on the Presentation House production of Since You Left Us (directed by Amiel Gladstone, 2014).

A Studio 58 graduate and a Sam Payne Award recipient (Jessie Awards 2015), Select credits include: For set design – Glengarry Glen Ross (Classic Chic), A Doll’s House (Slamming Door), and Seussical The Musical (Tulmud Torah). For sound design – Macbeth (S.R.O), Grease, Live Forever (Studio 58).  For stage management – Kosmic Mambo (Studio 58), Bright Blue Future (Hardline), 3…2…1… (Speakeasy), and The After Party Girls series.

Having recently graduated from Capilano University’s Costuming for Stage and Screen program, Heather Schmit is jumping into her career. During her studies she worked on seven theatre and four film productions, and has costume designed Any Night (Pacific Theatre) following her graduation.

Sophie Tang is a second-year UBC Theatre Production and Design MFA student. She holds a BFA theatre production and design degree from SFU. She enjoys stage design including set design, lighting design and props design. Recent credits: Arabian Nights (lighting designer), Eurydice (associate lighting designer), Bluebeard’s Castle (set designer), The Public (set designer), and Tenant of Wildfell Hall (assistant lighting designer).

Karina Pry is a composer, singer, multi-instrumentalist, teacher, sound designer and songwriter. She has studied under local legend Veda Hille, been in a reality TV show, sung with the Vancouver Cantata Singers, and written award winning choral music. She graduated from Langara’s digital music production program in 2015 and recently completed scoring her first feature film. This is Karina’s first foray into sound design for stage, and she is thrilled to be involved in this fantastic festival.

Jovanni Sy is a director, playwright, actor, and the artistic director of Gateway Theatre in Richmond.  For Gateway, he has directed Closer Than EverValley Song, and Harvest.  He recently performed at the Firehall Arts Centre in Dead Metaphor.  His play A Taste of Empire will be published by Talonbooks in spring 2017.

AJ currently makes his living as an actor, singer, composer and sound designer. He has been working at all these disciplines off and on for the last 30 years. He is frequently maimed, disemboweled, crucified and/or dismembered on your favorite locally-shot television programs and films. He most recently appeared on your local stage in Onegin at the Arts Club, and composed/designed for Kidd Pivot/Electric Company’s  internationally touring Bettrofenheit.
